At the symposium, Li Changyou introduced the Yunnan Academy of Science and Technology and the Tengchong Scientist Forum to the attendees, expressing hope for enhanced communication and collaboration in science and technology between Yunnan and Guangdong, especially the Greater Bay Area. He highlighted the international vision and cutting-edge scientific focus of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum, noting the resonance between the two forums on topics such as life sciences and green energy. Li also extended an invitation to the Secretariat for the 2024 Tengchong Scientist Forum.

During the meeting, both sides introduced and exchanged ideas on their respective forums' missions, progress, operational models, and marketization experiences. They discussed topics such as forum features, the establishment of awards, fundraising, and permanent venues. Both parties expressed their intention to leverage their respective forum resources, establish a regular communication mechanism, and deepen cooperation in hosting forums and promoting industry-university-research collaborations.

Leaders from Guangzhou and Nansha Development Zone, along with relevant personnel from the Greater Bay Area Science Forum Secretariat, attended the symposium.

The delegation also visited the Nansha Planning Exhibition Hall and the permanent venue of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum to gain a deeper understanding of the forum's influence, regional planning, and venue operation model.
