On June 26, 2024, Ma Minxiang, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Provincial Academy of Sciences, and Chen Yu, Secretary-General and Director of the Tengchong Scientists Forum Center, visited Nankai University. They expressed gratitude for Nankai University's long-term support for the establishment, operation, and hosting of the Tengchong Scientists Forum and held discussions with Fang Yongchun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Nankai University. Representatives from the Research Department of Nankai University and the Tengchong Scientists Forum Center participated in the event.

Vice President Fang Yongchun and his team listened to reports on the preparations for the 2024 Tengchong Scientists Forum, including event arrangements, result transformation, guest invitations, brand promotion, and market-oriented operations. The two sides discussed preparations for the Youth Scientists Forum, agreeing to build a multidisciplinary integration platform to support the growth and development of young talents and original breakthroughs.

The Tengchong Scientists Forum was initiated by Academician Rao Zihe, former President of Nankai University, with support from Nankai University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. Since its inception, the forum has received enthusiastic participation and support from numerous academicians, experts, teachers, students, and alumni. Nankai University President Chen Yulu has attended the forum and delivered speeches for two consecutive years. In 2024, the university will lead the Youth Scientists Forum, providing a platform for academic exchanges, idea collisions, and technological cooperation for young scientists at home and abroad. The goal is to inspire young talents to uphold scientific and scientist spirits, actively integrate into the global innovation network, and participate in global scientific research and result transformation cooperation.
