On 11 July 2024, Ma Minxiang, Vice President of Yunnan Provincial Academy of Science and Technology (YNAST), led a team to visit Kunming Medical University (KMU) to discuss with Lu Di, Vice President of KMU and his team, on the matters related to the 2024 Tengchong Scientists' Forum - Life Science and Great Health Sub-forum. Relevant personnel from the Department of Science and Technology, Tengchong Scientists Forum and Forum Centre of Kunming Medical University attended the discussion.

Vice President Lu Di and his entourage listened to the introduction of the preparations for the 2024 Tengchong Scientists Forum and learnt about the progress of the work in detail. The two sides focused on the theme planning, guest invitation, and results transformation of the life science and health sub-forum for in-depth discussion. Vice President Lu Di said that Kunming Medical University will support the development of Tengchong Scientists Forum as always, and looks forward to continuing cooperation with the Naval Medical University to jointly organise the 2024 Tengchong Scientists Forum - Life Sciences and Great Health Sub-forum.

In 2023, Kunming Medical University hosted the Tengchong Scientists Forum - Immunology Science and Clinical Translation Sub-forum, in which more than 300 academicians, experts and scholars combined with the clinical needs of autoimmune and metabolic diseases to carry out in-depth exchanges on new advances in immunological basic research, explored the problems and challenges, and made suggestions for assisting in the construction of "Healthy China.2024 Tengchong Scientists Forum will be held in Tengchong from December 6 to 8, life sciences and health sub-forum will be oriented to the people's life and health, focusing on the frontiers of life sciences, basic research, applied research, industrialisation and development of the whole chain of innovative paths to explore, and constantly to the breadth and depth of science and technology, to promote the depth of collaboration in the field of international medicine, and to help the development of modern medicine to achieve new breakthroughs.
